What it does: Desktop app that runs the Logos stack on your own machine

Verified on 9 October 2026 against GitHub release 0.3.2 and the install docs.

Logos Basecamp is the desktop app for Logos. It bundles a blockchain node, a wallet, a module manager and other tools in one install. The docs call it the default launcher for the stack. It starts the Logos runtime on your computer, loads a set of modules and gives them one interface.

What it does

The Basecamp page on logos.co lists these features:

  • Wallet. Accounts on the Logos Execution Zone. Send and receive tokens, including private transfers that use zero-knowledge proofs.
  • Private messaging. Encrypted peer-to-peer chat over the Logos messaging layer, with no central relay.
  • Blockchain explorer. Browse blocks, transactions and activity on the Logos Execution Zone.
  • File sharing. Decentralised storage, with the file index kept on your device.
  • Node dashboard. Run a full blockchain node and take part in the Testnet.
  • Package manager. Browse, install and update modules.

The page says Basecamp needs no accounts, sends no data to third parties and has no cloud dependencies. The Testnet v0.3 release added a Monero wallet and Ethereum wallet apps.

Platforms

Prebuilt installers are published for:

  • macOS on Apple silicon (.dmg)
  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit Intel or AMD (-x86_64-setup.exe)
  • Linux, 64-bit Intel or AMD (-x86_64.AppImage)
  • Linux on ARM64 (-aarch64.AppImage)

WSL2 on Windows is also supported. The docs ask for 4 GB of RAM (8 GB recommended) and about 2 GB of free disk space.

Not every app runs on native Windows yet. Chat and Storage do. The blockchain node and the swap app need the Linux AppImage under WSL2.

Install it

  1. Go to the latest release and download the file for your system.
  2. macOS: open the .dmg and drag Basecamp into Applications.
  3. Linux or WSL: install the few system libraries the docs list, make the AppImage executable and run it.
  4. Windows: run the setup file. It does not need administrator rights. The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you. Choose "Install (recommended)" or a portable copy.

The install guide has the exact commands, a build-from-source route with Nix, and fixes for common errors.
