Node Remote
What it does: A phone app and Basecamp module that watch, control and receive notifications from a Logos blockchain node over Tor
Stage: Prototype
Licence: MIT
Verified on 4 November 2026 against README and v0.2.1.

Node Remote is a Basecamp module and Android app by xAlisher. It pairs a phone with a Logos Blockchain node. The phone can then watch and control the node over a Tor onion service, a private address on the Tor anonymity network.

What it does

  • The phone pairs with the node by scanning a QR code shown in Basecamp, and a six-digit code on both ends confirms the pairing.
  • The link is a Tor v3 onion service with client authorisation, using a key the phone gets from the pairing QR code. The project's privacy notes say nobody without that key can connect, and the README says there is no account, no server in the middle and no port to forward.
  • The phone shows height, tip, LIB (last irreversible block), slot, sync state, peers, balance and the last error in plain language. It also shows Blend status, the node's role in the chain's privacy network.
  • The phone can start and stop the node, wipe the chain database and regenerate the config. Wipe keeps the wallet keys and settings.
  • Notifications cover events such as node stopped, sync stalled, no peers and block proposed. Each can be turned on or off, and they can be hidden from the lock screen.
  • A Rewards tab shows claimable vouchers and a claims ledger, with a Claim button, and reads the same ledger as the Blockchain node module.
  • The phone cannot edit peers. The README also says Node Remote does not hide Tor use from the internet provider.

Stage: Prototype. The README says "Pre-alpha, and honest about it." It also says "Not an official Logos product. Node Remote is an independent, community-built project".

Use it

  1. On the desktop, install the node_remote and node_remote_ui modules from the apps.alisher.xyz catalogue, or build them. node_remote needs blockchain_module and a system tor on the path.
  2. On the phone, add the project's F-Droid repository with the link in the README, which carries the signing fingerprint. Then install Node Remote.
  3. In Basecamp, open Node Remote and press Show QR. The onion address takes about 30 to 90 seconds to publish on a cold start.
  4. Scan the code with the app, or paste the pairing link and token from the Enter URI screen.
  5. Check that the six-digit code matches on both ends.

Build it

  • The Basecamp modules build with Nix and logos-module-builder: nix build .#packages.x86_64-linux.lgx-portable in each of the two module folders.
  • The Android app builds with ./gradlew assembleDebug. A signed release build needs the production keystore.

Releases

Latest tag: v0.2.1, 27 August 2026. Both node_remote and node_remote_ui are version 0.2.1 in their metadata.json files.
