'''Logos''' is a social movement and a decentralised technology stack. The stack is private by default and is built for parallel societies: communities, institutions and economies that run outside legacy systems. The movement organises people in local groups called [[Circles]].

== Mission ==
The Logos home page argues that civil society is in decline and that institutions are failing. It says reform from within will not fix this. It points to debt, the gap in wealth and home ownership between generations, surveillance, corruption and stagnant institutions.

The founding text is the manifesto ''Logos: A Declaration of Independence in Cyberspace'', by Jarrad Hope. It proposes a decentralised, privacy-preserving and politically neutral stack to support self-sovereign virtual territories and parallel societies. It calls for voluntary, consensus-based governance and for users to own the services, data and assets they rely on. The manifesto states: "Privacy is not secrecy, it is a fundamental right."

The home page lists four uses for the stack:

* private, censorship-resistant money
* permanent decentralised archives
* anonymous donations and mutual aid

The official λPrize and RFP repositories describe three core layers:

The three layers are reached through '''Logos Core''', a plugin-based runtime. The home page adds a fourth area, '''Networking''', which covers node discovery, peering and a mixnet.

The Logos documentation compares the stack to an operating system. It has four layers:

[[Basecamp]] is the default desktop launcher for the stack. The '''Logos Node''' runs the same runtime without a user interface, for node operators. The documentation says privacy is built into the infrastructure, so an app inherits metadata protection whether or not its developer adds it.

== The movement ==
The movement page describes Logos as building a parallel society. It aims to help people find supportive communities, learn self-reliance skills and keep control of their money and speech, starting where they live. Its stated approach is "Action, not permission". The same page says "Technology alone won't save us."

On 9 October 2026 the movement page counted more than 2,000 activists and organisations. The home page showed 151 contributors, 226 node operators, 47 Circles and 19 winnable local issues.
