''Parallel Action''

In line with the Logos Movement's increasing focus on action, the Logos Circle in Abeokuta didn't simply run a talk about healthcare. Instead they booked a venue, brought in ten volunteer medical professionals, and opened the doors.

Around 120 people registered for the Circle's medical outreach at Ogun Tech Hub and more than 100 turned up: software developers, students, healthcare professionals, designers, entrepreneurs, community leaders, crypto enthusiasts, and local residents. Blood pressure checks, blood sugar screening, consultations, physical assessments, health counselling and treatment — all of it free.

The Circle came away with five priority health issues to work on:
# Untreated hypertension
# Poor diabetes awareness
# Limited access to affordable diagnostic tests
# Mental health
# Financial barriers to specialist care

Two of those five are about cost. A third is about whether a test can be got at all, and only two are about the illnesses themselves.

That's the gap a Circle can work in. For one day in Abeokuta the equipment was in the room and nobody was charged for it, and people found to be at high risk were scheduled for follow-up. The one fix the Circle named for next time was more screening stations, to cut the wait.

None of this is complicated to reproduce. Find the healthcare professionals already living in your community, ask them for a day, and give them somewhere to work.

''Logos Circle / Abeokuta, report by Austine, 5 August 2026.''
