'''Booth''' is a module for [[Basecamp]] that turns your computer into a broadcast station, with no platform, account or directory server behind it.

== What it does ==
* You point OBS at Booth and press Start. Booth runs a MediaMTX origin and announces your station over Logos Messaging topics.
* Booth only broadcasts. Listening happens in a separate module, the Receiver.
* A station is its public key. Booth signs every announce with that key, so nobody can take over your station by copying its name.
* Each signed station gets a three-word fingerprint made from its key. Tell your listeners the three words so they can check it is really you.
* You pick an identity tier. Anonymous sends unsigned announces. Autogenerated keeps a key on this one machine. Keycard keeps the key on a Logos Keycard, so the same identity works on any device with the card.
* You pick who can find you. A public station appears in the directory every Receiver watches. Since v0.2.2, a private station announces on a topic made from its title and a passphrase, and the announce is encrypted.
* You pick how much of your address shows. "Hide IP with Tor" runs a Tor hidden service and announces a .onion address. "Show IP (LAN)" is a direct pull for local, low-latency use.
* A station re-announces every 15 seconds and drops off a Receiver's list 45 seconds after the heartbeats stop.

Stage: Prototype. The README opens with "This is a personal, experimental hobby project." It also says Booth is not an official Logos product and is not audited.

== Use it ==
# Install Logos Basecamp v0.2 or later. The signed releases are built for Linux (amd64).
# Install the runtime tools: OBS Studio, MediaMTX, ffmpeg and tor. The .lgx packages do not bundle them. From v0.2.1 a first-launch card lists anything missing and gives you the install command.
# Download both packages from the [https://github.com/xAlisher/booth-basecamp/releases releases page]: radio_module and radio_ui. Install both with lgpm. The internal module names stay radio_module and radio_ui after the rename to Booth.
# Booth needs the delivery module. On Basecamp 0.3.x the package manager installs it as a dependency. The README says the old pin to delivery v0.1.1 only matters on a Basecamp 0.2-era host.
# Open Booth in Basecamp. Name the station, pick identity, reach and privacy, then press Start.
# Copy the ingest values from the OBS setup card into OBS (WHIP, RTMP or SRT) and start streaming. When the light shows Live, the station is signed and announced.

Guides in the repository: [https://github.com/xAlisher/booth-basecamp/blob/main/docs/CONNECTING-OBS.md Connecting OBS] and [https://github.com/xAlisher/booth-basecamp/blob/main/docs/ZERO-TO-STREAMING.md Zero to Streaming], an end-to-end guide for a headless station.

== Build it ==
* Booth builds with Nix. Build the core with
cd radio_module && nix build
, then launch the UI with
cd ../radio_ui && nix run .
.
*
./scripts/install.sh
builds both .lgx packages and installs them into Basecamp.
* Headless tests for the core and the UI are listed in the README.
* Ports, the directory topic, the heartbeat and the time-out can be changed with RADIO_* environment variables.

== Releases ==
* v0.1.0, 10 June 2026: first release.
* v0.2.2, 28 July 2026: private streams.
* v0.2.3, 13 August 2026: network fix for the logos.test preset.
* v0.2.4, 5 October 2026: makes stations visible again on Basecamp 0.3.x. This is the latest release.
